SUPPORT Welcome!
The Portadown and Armagh ME Support Groups are self-help groups
for those suffering with ME and their carers. We hold regular monthly
meetings to offer support and to share experiences and information.
The Portadown membership covers the Portadown,
Lurgan and Brownlow areas of the
wider Craigavon region and the Armagh membership
covers Armagh City, Dungannon and the Co.
Tyrone regions. New sufferers and their carers of all ages
are most welcome.
As often as possible our monthly meetings have guest speakers drawn
from various disciplines who are able to present what they feel
can help people with ME. Some members have tried treatments or therapies
with varied results and these results are fed back to the groups.
The aim of our groups is not to tell people what treatments to try
but rather to share our collective experiences.
Both groups are registered as charities and are run by their respective
Committees including a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Treasurer
and Secretary. Please remember that the groups are not professional
funded organisations or full advice services, and the organisers
also have limited energy too!
